...it's very hard to find a summary of an equally hard-to-decipher novel. this blog of yours really help me understand it. actually, i have read the book and i understand it. but since the novel was presented without the consistency of a normal narrative, i was kind of puzzled - really.

@Jenny - yeah, she was. I think it might have been because the author was into Spiritualism in one point? I'm not exactly sure if that was when she wrote THotHoC but I did read that she got into it sometime later in her life.

I'm glad you liked it! But did you kind of think the end of Robin was a teeny bit spiritual-tract-y?

@Ashley - "He never seemed to understand Audrina, even though he witnessed everything that happened to her."

I don't get that either. : ( I would have liked him better if he did.

Unfortunately, there are people who would do this, and I'm sure that there are people who have done it.

I was really influenced by the whole Dollanganger series, it really touched me to see the suffering of their children.

Did you happen to watch the movie at all? Unfortunately I bought it, and upon watching it, realized that they completely slaughtered the book with it. I just don't think that you can translate the work of VCA into a movie the way that it should be.

This is a very old post, but My Sweet Audrina is one of my favorite VC Andrews books, so I just have to comment. :)

I love Audrina because she is flawed, and far from the perfection of the other VC Andrews characters, or any character in a novel for that matter. One thing I could not stand through out the book was the fact that I could never learn to like Arden. He never seemed to understand Audrina, even though he witnessed everything that happened to her.

And no, Neiderman's version of VC Andrews will never compare to her original works. I don't care for the newest books, but I enjoyed them up until the end of the Logan series.

@Rowena - I liked some of her other works, though this really disappointed me. I might check the new one out though, next time.
