Dead as a Doornail seems to eliminate previous potential lovers for Sookie. First of all, Alcide was acting like a bastard in this book that I just had to like Eric more after he and Sookie talked a little soon after the real culprit of the shootings had been killed:

“Why were you there? Was that blasted Alcide trying to use you for some purpose in the contest?”

“You should talk about using.”

“Yes, but I’m straightforward about it,” Eric said, his blue eyes wide and guileless.

Meanwhile, Sam’s Sookie’s boss and she said herself that not getting involved with him was for the best.

Bill’s her first lover - but he hurt and betrayed her too badly for them to have a relationship again (at least, this is what I believe. As Sookie said, it wouldn’t be the same and a possibility for a new one wouldn’t be anytime soon).

But now there’s Quinn, and that’s something I have to read for tomorrow.

I’m starting to wonder if Sookie had actually died, how would it affect Eric?

SPOILERS FOLLOW. DO NOT CONTINUE READING IF YOU’D RATHER NOT READ ANYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK AND POSSIBLY THE NEXT (6th to the series).

Is it really love? I know it’s lust, but I’m also hoping it was something more significant than that. And I don’t want to believe it was the fairy blood…it’d be too disappointing. I’ve read the first chapter of All Together Dead from Charlaine Harris’ website and it seemed to me there’s hope for Sookie and Eric yet. Because the fifth book (this) just happened to be a treat for anyone who liked that pairing. Eric could be a bastard but as he said, at least he was straightforward about it.

Question number two: would Eric ever remember the time that lapsed when he was cursed by the witches? As in everything that happened then? Because, truly, I wonder what how he’d feel if he remembered everything he said and did. Not that I expect it to happen (like him abandoning his businesses and his declarations of love). No, I firmly believe it won’t. But it’s bound to affect him one way or another.

I guess I just like Eric of all the vampires, LOL.

As for Sookie, I wish she wouldn’t get turned on by nearly all male creatures that touches her. Heh. xD
